Founding 50 program — $1,500 off your Movo X. Reservations open · first 50 only →

Ways to pay

Make the Movo X actually affordable.

At $9,500, the Movo X is already a third of what competitors charge. Between HSA/FSA savings and 0% financing, your real out-of-pocket can drop below $5,800.

1 · HSA & FSA — most US buyers

Save ~$1,900 – $3,800 in taxes

Mobility equipment qualifies as a medical expense under IRS Publication 502. If you have an HSA, FSA or HRA, the Movo X is fully eligible — pay with the pre-tax money in your account and save your marginal tax rate (typically 22-40%).

How to use it

  1. At checkout, select HSA/FSA card as your payment method, or pay any other way and submit the receipt to your administrator for reimbursement.
  2. We email you a detailed itemized invoice immediately after purchase, with the necessary medical-equipment codes your administrator needs.
  3. If your administrator requires a Letter of Medical Necessity, email team@movochair.com — we'll send a template you take to your doctor.

Not tax advice. Eligibility depends on your specific plan — confirm with your administrator before purchase.

4 · Insurance & Medicare

Direct insurance coverage for stair-climbing wheelchairs is rare — even with Scewo and Permobil. Here's the honest landscape:

  • Medicare: generally does not cover stair-climbing devices. We are working with two private Medicare Advantage plans for partial reimbursement — no commitment yet.
  • Medicaid: varies by state. We provide invoices with the appropriate HCPCS code (E1399) for buyers who want to attempt reimbursement.
  • Private insurance: some plans reimburse 20-50% on appeal. We provide a Letter of Medical Necessity template and supporting documentation.
  • VA benefits: for US veterans, contact your VA prosthetics rep. We have submitted documentation to the VA Federal Supply Schedule and expect approval in late 2026.

If you want help running this down for your specific plan, book a 15-min call and we'll do the legwork for free.
